BOATHOUSE LANDING
Ithaca, NY

Taitem provided MEP+S design services for this multifamily building on Cayuga Inlet. Taitem worked closely with the owner and architect to appropriately size the electrical service, advise on the HVAC system, and value engineer the foundation system. 

Project features include

  •  120 12-inch timber piles supporting a first-floor 6-inch structural slab

  • pre-fabricated building shell with 12-inch thick walls

  • VRF air source heat pumps 

  • Energy Star compliance

COLLEGE OF THE ATLANTIC
Bar Harbor, ME

Taitem provided MEP+FP design services for this 46-bed, Passive House dormitory. The project team worked within the college's sustainability framework to maximize building performance, reduce emissions, and deliver a comfortable, healthy, and affordable building.

  • roof-mounted solar PV

Taitem provided integrated MEP, fire protection, and structural design services, collaborating with our energy engineers on the building systems.

Taitem also provided commissioning, energy consulting, and energy modeling for the project to acquire incentives through NYSERDA's New Construction Housing Program and Energy Star certification.
