Mahmud Burton

Energy Analyst

Mahmud has worked primarily with the Energy + Sustainability department since joining Taitem in 2009 after over two decades of work in the building trades. In addition to performing numerous energy studies for commercial and agricultural operations and places of worship, he has done benchmarking and Flex-Tech audits. Mahmud has provided technical support for a number of NYSERDA programs including application technical reviews for over 700 statewide projects in the Ground Source Heat Pump Rebate Program. He is presently coordinating a feasibility study for implementing a district-level geothermal system in a downtown Ithaca neighborhood. Mahmud holds an Associates degree in Social Sciences from John Abbott College in Quebec, Canada.
