Library Place is an active adult residence on the site of the former Tompkins County library with sixty-six, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. The site includes a restaurant, community room, courtyard gardens, workout facilities and a warming pool
Taitem provided energy consulting services including testing and verification and documentation to meet NYSERDA NCP-MF tier 3 requirements. Our team developed the proposed design & Baseline BEM using eQuest software, evaluated various envelope options and infiltration and its impact on building energy consumption, analyzed various ventilation optimization strategies and control techniques, optimized lighting load in the building and provided suggestions to improve lighting control strategies, and suggested methods for reduction in water use and hot water energy consumption.
The building achieved a 33.10% energy savings when compared to ASHRAE 90.1-2013, with amendments in NYSERDA MF-NCP’s simulation guideline. The project targets 40% energy reduction with on-site renewable energy.
