


AMICI HOUSE and CHILDCARE CENTER – ITHACA, NY
Tompkins Community Action’s Amici House is a five-story new construction multifamily building providing supportive housing for formerly homeless young adults and children. In addition, it includes first-floor office space, community space, and a commercial kitchen. Taitem provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural design services as well as energy modeling for this project. The project included the separate new TCA Harriet Giannelis Childcare Center which provides five classrooms for Head Start and Early Head Start programs, as well as support space and staff training space. The Center accommodates 42 children, and 21 living-wage jobs.
The project utilized Enterprise Green Communities consulting and certification support and was designed under the NYSERDA Multifamily New Construction Program.
