Senior Engineer, Commissioning
Nate has been with Taitem since 2007 and Commissioning buildings (his area of expertise) since 2008. In addition to his Professional Engineering License Nate currently holds certifications as a Certified Commissioning Professional and an Existing Building Commissioning Professional. Nate has led or assisted on Commissioning projects that range from $34 million school additions, GSA compliant government buildings, Industrial buildings, Offices, Commercial, Hospitality and Multifamily buildings. He has experience with LEED New Construction, LEED EBOM, Ongoing Commissioning, NYC LL87 compliance, Renovation & Gut rehab projects and NYSERDA program compliant commissioning. Although his primary focus is Commissioning, Nate began at Taitem in the Design department as a Project Engineer and has since worked with most of the other departments building a broad set of skills and experience. Besides design experience, Nate has created and reviewed energy models, performed numerous energy audits, conducted energy audit trainings, and has performed quality assurance site inspections and energy reduction plan reviews.
Nate is a qualified Renewable Heat NY (Biomass Boilers) Technical Reviewer/Consultant and has worked on over 60 projects as part of the Solar design team, including maintaining and operating Taitem’s Solar Pile Testing rig for large ground mount arrays.
Nate has presented at conferences, prepared research papers, reviewed products and services as a subject matter expert for NYPA and runs a regular training program for Taitem staff. He has research experience on projects completed at the University of Maine holds a Bachelors in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University.
