2016 NYSERDA Quality Award
to David Tedeyan and Nick Kirk. The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) honored the top three New York solar PV installers who consistently earned the highest quality ratings. Taitem’s staff won two of the three awards.

2014 30 Under 30 Award
to Evan Hallas. Chosen by Home Energy magazine as one of the nation’s top young engineers.

2014 40 Under 40 Award
to Umit Sirt. Chosen by Consulting Specifying Engineer as one of the nation’s top young engineers.

2013 B-Corporation Award
Taitem is now a certified B Corporation. B Corps are a new type of corporation which use the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. B Corps create higher quality jobs and improve the quality of life in our communities. And, as the movement grows, they become an increasingly powerful agent of change.

2012 Sustainable Tompkins Signs of Sustainability Award
Taitem Engineering received three certificates of recognition at the Sustainable Tompkins Signs of Sustainability Celebration. The first was for our energy reduction retrofits to our downtown office buildings (109 and 110 S Albany). The second was for our work with Snug Planet on the “Deep Energy Retrofit” projects and the third was for our expansion into solar PV installation. Synairco also received recognition for being a sustainable enterprise advancing air conditioning technology.

2011 Sustainable Tompkins Signs of Sustainability Award
to Taitem Engineering for the installation of our 9.2 kW solar pv system at our office on 110 South Albany Street in Ithaca.

2011 Sustainable Tompkins Signs of Sustainability Award
to Ian Shapiro, PE for his ASHRAE Journal Article: 10 Common Problems in Energy Audits.

2011 Sustainable Tompkins Signs of Sustainability Award
to Taitem Engineering for our work on the Varyap Meridan in Istanbul, Turkey.

2009 40 Under 40 Award
to Crista Shopis. Chosen by Consulting Specifying Engineer as one of the nation’s top young engineers.

2006 Historic Ithaca Preservation Award
for concrete restoration of exterior porch at Telluride House, a historic building on the Cornell University Campus.

2005 R&D100 award
for its TREAT software program, in collaboration with the National Renewable Energy Lab, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, and Performance Systems Development. TREAT analyzes energy use in residential buildings and allows users to estimate energy savings of improvements. It is used widely in New York State, New Hampshire, Maine, and Washington State.

2005 American Concrete Institute, Central New York Chapter, Gold Award for Excellence in Concrete Design and Installation
for the freestanding turtle sculpture in the Ithaca Children’s Garden.

2004–2005 Southern Tier of New York Chapter of ASHRAE, first-place technology award
in the existing institutional buildings category for the design and implementation of a solar recovery ventilation system at Almus Olver Towers, an apartment building owned by the Syracuse, NY Housing Authority.
