Solarize CNY Fall Fun

Taitem’s Solar Division has been selected as a partner contractor for the 2016 Solarize CNY program which kicked off with a great Launch Party in downtown Syracuse Oct 13. We’ll be working with Katelyn Kriesel and the terrific team at the Central New York Regional Planning & Development Board to help people across five upstate counties be part of the solar solution.

Even renters and homeowners with a shaded site can take a look at the community solar opportunities offered in this program. To spread the word, festive, party-themed solar fairs will be hosted by these fine eating and drinking establishments:

Wed Nov 2 Prison City, Auburn
Wed Nov 16 Critz Farms & Harvest Moon Cidery, Cazenovia (previously Nov 17)
Jan-Feb TBD 916 Riverside, Central Square
Jan-Feb TBD Cortland Beer, downtown Cortland

Drop by for a drink or a snack, and invite your friends and family who want to know more about harnessing the power of the sun to cut costs and carbon emissions. Each fair is a no-pressure networking and tabling event where folks can meet installers, ask questions, compare qualifications and sign up for a free quote.

Solarize CNY is a collaborative public-sector project, led by the Central New York Regional Planning & Development Board. The program aims to provide solar panel installation for homeowners at a lower-than-market cost. By attending events or signing up online, citizens can access information and receive quotes for solar photovoltaic systems, including community solar, which provides options to renters and others not typically eligible for home solar panel installation. This campaign covers Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego counties.

Solarize campaigns are a proven solar energy development model used nationally since 2009. Since 2013, Taitem has installed hundreds of systems through the Solar Tompkins, Going Solar Southern Tier Central, Southern Tier Solar Works, Solarize Seneca, and Solar Schuyler campaigns. A big shout-out to all the dedicated volunteers who make these terrific programs possible!
