Lou Vogel, PE, LEED AP
Lou Vogel is a senior engineer and the president of Taitem Engineering. He has worked on a variety of design and energy projects and leads Taitem’s work as a green building consultant for the New York State Housing Trust Fund Corporation (multifamily housing) and for NYSERDA’s New Construction Program (commercial). His areas of expertise include sustainable design, geothermal heat pumps, energy modeling, facilities audits, and commissioning. Prior to joining Taitem Engineering, he designed HVAC systems for many school districts, and he has extensive experience in this sector. He has done HVAC design work and facilities audits for numerous public and private clients. Lou Vogel has served as a voting member of ASHRAE standards and handbook committees in the area of kitchen ventilation. He holds a degree in engineering from Purdue University and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in New York.
Yossi Bronsnick, PE, LEED AP
Yossi Bronsnick is a partner and senior engineer at Taitem and the manager of Taitem’s design department. Yossi works on structural engineering projects with a focus on commercial, industrial, and residential projects. He has extensive experience designing for sustainable buildings incorporating renewable energy. Among his notable projects are design for solar-thermal DHW systems for several City of Ithaca buildings, structural design for the Dalai Lama of Tibet’s personal monastery in the United States, and Maguire Imports Dealership, which achieved LEED Platinum certification. Yossi has a B.S. and M.Eng in civil and environmental engineering, both from Cornell University.
Javier E. Rosa, PE
Javier is a partner and senior engineer at Taitem and has been performing structural engineering design since 1993. He has worked on both low-rise and multistory industrial, commercial, and residential projects. Javier has provided expert testimony in several litigations. He is well versed in analyzing structural problems and recommending solutions to remedy structural deficiencies. He has worked on a variety of historic preservation projects. Javier is a certified Geothermal Professional from the Heatspring Institute in Cambridge, MA. Javier studied Civil Engineering, and previously worked at Ray Architects and Engineers in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Javier has also worked on energy audits, heating and lighting design.
Fred is a senior engineer and has worked on a variety of design and energy projects for Taitem since 1998. Fred focuses on HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design. He has worked on design projects for Cornell University, Ithaca College, Tompkins County, City of Ithaca, the Ithaca Sciencenter Museum, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, and for housing authorities in Ithaca, Batavia, Watervliet, Rome, and Tioga/Bradford Counties in Pennsylvania. He is well known in the Ithaca area as the previous owner of F.E. Schwartz, a plumbing/heating/air-conditioning contracting business. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering from Cornell University.
Myron is a senior engineer who brings many years of electrical design experience to Taitem. As the founder and president of his own electrical contracting company, Myron gained invaluable practical experience. Myron specializes in electrical design for commercial, industrial and multi-family projects, large scale solar PV design; and energy efficient lighting and power design. He has worked on NYSERDA lighting research projects and has experience with NYSERDA incentive programs. Mr. Walter holds associates degrees from Tompkins Cortland Community College and is a licensed master electrician.
Dominick is a project engineer at Taitem who focuses on HVAC design for commercial, industrial, multi-family and residential projects. Dominick is experienced in the design of geothermal and of variable refrigerant flow (VRF) heat pumps, commissioning of HVAC systems and conducting energy studies for several statewide energy-efficiency programs. Notable projects include design of a biomass boiler heating system for the Town of Danby’s Highway garage and offices, renovation of the Franziska Rackers Center and Purity Ice Cream in Ithaca. Dominick has completed training in Modern Hydronics through Bell and Gossett and holds a BS in Management and Economics from Empire State College and an associate’s degree from Onondaga Community College.
Anna Legard, LEED AP O+M, NABCEP
Anna Legard is a project engineer in Taitem’s Renewables Department where she designs residential PV systems. Anna has earned her NABCEP PV installer certificate and has expertise in drafting and design for photovoltaics. Notable projects include design of a roof-mount photovoltaic system for the Ulysses Philomathic Library in Trumansburg, a ground-mount photovoltaic system for the Longhouse Cooperative in Ithaca, and many residential projects. In addition to her work at Taitem, Anna was recently elected to the USGBC Upstate Chapter’s Market Leadership Advisory Board (MLAB). She holds a B.A. in Physics and Mathematics from St. Olaf College and an M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University.
