Taitem Engineering provides electrical engineering on multiple system types, structural design and review of building capacities, design and stamping of Finlo’s custom racking systems, and a range of other project-specific services. Finlo Renewable Energy is located in the same building as Taitem.

Taitem Engineering has recently received the good news that the City Cedars has been awarded LEED Gold certification. The project for which Taitem was commissioning agent, is a multifamily building located in the Bronx, New York, which has a geothermal heat pump system and a very nice green roof.
Special thanks to Lou Vogel, PE, who led this project, and Nate Goodell, project engineer. We are so proud to have been a part of this great project!

Taitem Engineering is this year’s winner of the Exemplary Green Purchaser Award presented by Tompkins County Solid Waste Management Division. Taitem was cited as “a partner who closes the recycling loop by consistently purchasing items made with recycled content, as well as purchasing items with minimal, recyclable, or recycled content packaging.” The judges mentioned our comprehensive Green Purchasing Policy, authored by Willa Vogel, as a deciding factor. The policy covers everything we use at the Taitem office, from computers to cleaning supplies. Willa accepted the award—and fabulous prizes—at this year’s Chamber of Commerce Showcase Tompkins event.
